Yesterday’s Y/Project show during Paris Fashion Week proved once again that the development of the French brand under the direction of Glenn Martens is one of the most interesting phenomena of modern fashion. The brand was on the verge of bankruptcy when the designer took over Y/Project as creative director. In a few years, Martens has managed not only to give it a second life, but also to make the brand’s items the object of desire of all fashion influencers. Take, for example, the famous jeans from the AW22 collection that turn into ultra-short shorts or a “naked” dress with a flick of the wrist. And judging by the enthusiastic reviews on the Web, the new collection has given us a few more things that will soon be prefixed with It.
This time around the Y/Project runway was dominated by denim and in a variety of forms: from draped and dyed to washed. Models took part in the show in faux jeans, flowy dresses and skirts, alcohol t-shirts with see-through straps and over-the-knee boots. Accessories of the new collection deserve special attention. The obscene gesture earrings that appeared on the Y/Project account a few days before the show immediately went to our wishlist. And as a bracelet, Martens recommends wearing a belt every few turns.
By the way, there was no music on the Y/Project show. Instead, the guests listened to the sounds of the podium. The fact is that it consists of a thousand small stones and made a soothing sound from walking models (ASMR in its purest form). We invite you to take a closer look at all of our material.
