Formula 1 director Joseph Kosinski opened up about his worst day filming with Brad Pitt while working on the blockbuster racing movie in a new interview with People.

The story centers around former Formula 1 driver Sonny Hayes (Brad Pitt), who returns to his career and fights to save his new team. The film includes scenes of Pitt driving during the Las Vegas Grand Prix weekend in November 2024. As Kosinski shared, “The scariest moment was definitely Las Vegas. This race was held at night, it was cold, the tires had a hard time gripping the track, and Brad had no opportunity to practice on this track before filming because there are only three days a year.”
The Las Vegas GP Street Circuit race is held on the Las Vegas Strip and does not have the drop zones that many other tracks have. As a result, drivers often approach the track’s barriers and sometimes crash into them. The director added: “I can say that I was really praying for him in Vegas because it was so cold, the tires had so little grip, and if he had made one mistake he would have hit the wall. It was the most dangerous thing we’ve ever done. But Pitt did a great job, even though his character failed in the movie. He was great on the day of shooting.”
By the way, the movie “Formula 1” became the highest-grossing movie in Brad Pitt’s career.
