A TikTok account named after the alleged dead girl Anastasia has gone viral. It’s called “Afterlife.” Today it was revealed that Anastasia is not actually there, and that the “dead blogger” who was allegedly her digital avatar is actually called Anastasia Svistunova and is a professional actress.
The girl described her project as “an art performance and social experiment.” “I was looking for an opportunity to draw attention to questions that concern every person: “How do modern technologies change the perception of life and death?”, “Where does the boundary of reality end, where does the boundary of virtuality begin?”, “What is it? Would you like to live a life if this life could be simulated?” – says the video.
The actor also apologized to anyone who was hurt in any way by what happened: “I understand that this has caused a lot of emotion and I apologize to anyone who was offended. But that’s also part of the performance.”
Before the truth came out, they wrote that Anastasia died in a car accident on July 30. Shortly before the incident, the girl made a digital avatar with her face and voice, and her account was allegedly maintained by her relatives. However, Internet users immediately suspected something was wrong, as there was no distortion in the video and the sound sounded natural.
