Brooke Shields prepares to leave her daughters: ‘I’m scared of ending up in an empty nest!’

The 59-year-old Hollywood star cares a lot about her daughters Rowan and Greer. Brooke Shields gave an interview with them to People magazine, where she admitted that she was suffering from the impending separation from them.

The girls will be heading off to school soon. Greer, 18, is starting her freshman year at Wake Forest University, where her 21-year-old sister is a senior. “One of them, Rowan, looks like a Golden Retriever puppy. She’s always jumping. She has so much energy. She’s so funny. The other one is an Abyssinian. Greer is so balanced. She’s perfect and level-headed,” the actress said of the heirs.

“I’m scared of ending up with an empty nest!” admits Brooke Shields. The artist says she’s “in awe” of watching her daughters grow into confident young women (who also rummage through her closet and give her advice on TikTok).

“Suddenly they are no longer yours. When you realize they are their own person, you meet them in a different capacity. When they open up to you, it’s a new type of relationship. I didn’t shape them, but I protected them enough and got out of the way so they could be who they are,” the celebrity shared.

Greer noted that she and her mother are now friends: “You still discipline us, but I feel like we’ve gotten a lot closer.” Brooke gets emotional as she listens to her daughters talk about each other. “Greer is incredibly loyal and a strong decision-maker. She has a good eye for other people’s personalities. She’s really funny when she lets her guard down a little bit. It happens a lot, but it’s normal,” Rowan said.

“She’s very spontaneous,” Grier said of her sister. “She knows not to get stressed out by what other people think, and I need to learn that too. And if I need her support, she’ll do it.” “I’m going to miss them so much,” Shields said, adding that it’s “bittersweet and joyful.” The actress also noted that her “new obsession” with her dog, Tuzi, will stay with her.
