Apple Studios and Skydance have teamed up to produce a new film project, The Way of the Warrior Boywhich is based on the 2017 novel by Jocko Willink.
Chris Pratt (Guardians of the Galaxy) AND Linda Cardellini (Dead to me) will star in the film with the fourteen-year-old Belfast burst Judas Hill destined to take on the lead role.
Hill plays the role of Marc, “a self-doubting boy who gets picked on and has trouble completing a single pull-up,” while Cardellini plays Marc’s mother, Sarah.
Pratt will play Marc’s uncle, Jake, “an elite Navy SEAL who is injured during a deployment and moves in with his sister for rehab. When he discovers that his 13-year-old nephew is struggling academically, socially and physically, Jake takes on a new mission: to use his SEAL Team training over three months of the summer to help the boy find his inner warrior.”
The film is directed by Italian: (Terminator: Salvation) and it looks like a great, uplifting story that will make for a solid film, the kind of film McG will do well with.
The film will be produced by Skydance David Ellison, Dana Goldberg AND Don Grangertogether with McG and Mary Viola for Wonderland Sound and Pratt for Indivisible Productions.
