Shooting of the second part of “Cheburashka” started in Moscow. The action will take place a year after the previous events. Like any growing child, the main character begins to show excessive independence and sometimes becomes a hooligan. Gena tries to calm Cheburashka’s ardor, but does not like said father’s methods.

Not only Sergei Garmash will return to his role, but also Eva Smirnova, who plays Rimma’s (Elena Yakovleva) spoiled granddaughter Sonya. She still continues to do whatever she wants, trusting that she will remain unpunished. Olga Kuznetsova will voice Cheburashka, as in the first film.

“In New Cheburashka, we maintain continuity and continue to talk about family and the difficulties that exist in every home. We like to talk about it funny and brightly,” said the Film Distributor Bulletin quoting the project’s director, Dmitry Dyachenko. The film will be released on wide screens in 2026.
Let us also remind you that the premiere of the first part of the movie took place on January 1, 2023. It still remains Russia’s highest-grossing film. The box office gross total was 6.79 billion rubles.
In the meantime, take our test and find out if you remember the history of the Soviet Cheburashka.
