Figure of the day: edition of Russian classics sold for 3.5 million rubles

Recently, an auction of the Literary Fund was held in Yekaterinburg. Meanwhile, a lifetime edition of Mikhail Lermontov’s 1841 book “A Hero of Our Time” was sold for 3.5 million rubles, Delovoy Petersburg reported.

“Originally Ilya Glazunov’s St. A book published by the St. Petersburg printing house [в 1841 году]It was offered for 3 million rubles,” the publication reports.

By the way, at the same auction the first edition of Alexander Pushkin’s poem “Poltava” was sold for 2 million rubles, in 1829 in St. It was printed in St. Petersburg.

Let us recall that on December 8 it became known that the “destroyed” volume of Fyodor Dostoyevsky’s book “Demons” was sold for 2.2 million rubles. An auction was recently held in England, where a copy of the first edition of the book “Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone” written by JK Rowling was sold. It remained in the cupboard under the stairs for approximately 26 years.
