Russell Brand’s accuser speaks out, claiming she was ‘used and abused for temporary excitement’

The woman who filed a lawsuit against Russell Brand and Warner Bros. filed, alleging the former actor assaulted her on set Arthur gave an interview in 2010 detailing her complaint.

The plaintiff – an unnamed actress referred to in court documents as Jane Doe – filed her lawsuit in New York Supreme Court on Friday and has now spoken to the court Sunday Times Newspaper in Great Britain.

In a long interview:

She claims the attack took place in July 2010 during the production of the comedy film Arthur. Brand, who played the title role, was engaged to singer Katy Perry, who would appear with him on the red carpet at the film’s premiere the following year.

She claims that Brand exposed himself to her in front of the film’s cast and crew members and that that same day Brand entered the bathroom she was in and attacked her “while a member of the production team was guarding the door outside”. “

She told the newspaper: “I felt used and abused. Horrible is the only word. “I felt that I was being used, that I was just an object of his temporary excitement,” and that she was now speaking to “reclaim her power.”

She added that she is afraid to speak out because her name could be blacklisted in the industry and her career ruined, citing the power imbalance between stars and those with smaller roles on film sets.

She said: “Usually everyone turns a blind eye to bad behavior on set. For example, if I said something to a production assistant on set, what would they do? Are they going to fire Russell Brand or are they going to fire me?”

Brand, Warner Bros. and the production companies MBST Entertainment, BenderSpink and Langley Park Pictures are named as defendants in the lawsuit. So far, no one has publicly responded to the claims.

Brand was previously charged with rape, sexual assault and emotional abuse following an investigation by Channel 4 broadcasts program and the Sunday Times. He denied all allegations and said his relationships were all consensual.
