A British mother of three has suffered life-changing injuries after being hit by a vehicle driving on the wrong side of the road in Alicante.
Dawn Maher (50) was taken to hospital after a serious accident while traveling to collect her friend from Alicante airport earlier this month.
She collided with a car traveling in the wrong lane of the N332 in oncoming traffic and was taken to Vega Baja Hospital.
The paramedic, originally from Stockport, suffered “numerous fractures and fractures, including her neck, which will be in a brace for months, her left arm and her ribs,” according to a GoFundMe set up by her husband, Stephen, 59 is. .
In addition, Dawn’s legs were broken in several places after the accident, which Stephen said the Spanish police “confirmed that Dawn was an innocent victim.”

“Thank God all her internal organs are fine and her brain is perfectly fine,” Stephen wrote.
Stephen wrote in a Facebook post on Tuesday that despite major surgery, she can now wiggle her toes.
Still, he said, he worries about how long her recovery will take.
“We have no idea how long her recovery will take or what her life will be like with the injury to her legs, but we know it will be a long road,” Stephen wrote on the GoFundMe page.
