Britney Spears’ memoir The woman in me is big. But that’s not the biggest thing.
First week sales reports show that the memoir sold 1.1 million copies in the US in its first week alone. Sales figures include pre-orders, print sales, e-books and audio books. According to Circana, which monitors the publishing market, print copies totaled 418,000 copies.
“I poured my heart and soul into my memoir and am grateful to my fans and readers around the world for their continued support,” Spears said in a statement released Wednesday by Gallery Books, a division of Simon & Schuster.
The woman in me was released on October 24. Spears posted on Instagram on the day of release that her book had become “the best-selling celebrity memoir.”
So far, it’s not even the best-selling memoir of 2023. Spears’ refusal to give interviews in support of the book doesn’t help matters.
