Fox News forecaster describes New York subway attack

Adam Klotz, a forecaster for Fox News, Fox Business and Fox Weather, was beaten by a group of teenagers on a New York subway early Sunday morning.

Klotz suffered bruised ribs, black eyes and cuts to his face, among other things.

The man put out the fire, but the youths then turned their attention to Klotz.

“I went to the left to sit there when they thought you wanted to do something and I didn’t want to do anything,” he said.

Klotz said he went to another car. But in the end, “the whole group just comes running at me, and all of a sudden I’m on the ground. I get kicked in the side. I’m laughed at.”

He added, “They tried to knock me unconscious and once you’re unconscious and you’re knocked out… there’s no defense. So I just did everything I could to cover my head so I wouldn’t do not pass

He said people helped him after the teenagers left. One person notified the police, but the teenagers returned and began verbally abusing him again. The police, he said, seized “three of seven or eight teenagers I suspect” but “released them that night.”

“I want something done,” he said. “It’s more like why is the weatherman on the train trying to stop crime in the middle of the night? Where is Eric Adams? where is the city Why am I doing this?”

He went to the hospital for treatment, he said, but he also called for “someone to be held accountable” and more security or patrols on the subways.

Authorities said the incident began on the southbound 1 train as it approached the West 18th and 7th Avenue station.

NYPD officials said in a statement that two 15-year-old males and a 17-year-old male were arrested but “have been released to their legal guardians pending the outcome of the investigation into the entire incident, including her actions toward the elderly victim .” “. They said a fourth person had fled to “parts unknown”, but did not name others in the group. The elderly man did not stay at the scene to report the incident, police said.
