EXCLUSIVE: Fox is developing the single-camera comedy series buy bucket by executive producer and writer Stephen Falk (you are the worst)Allen Maldonado (heels), Darrell Britt Gibson (The cable) and Brandon Mychal Smith (Four weddings and a funeral). Maldonado, Britt-Gibson and Smith will also star.
buy bucket follows three estranged brothers who, after the untimely death of their billionaire father, must band together to figure out how to lead the pro basketball team he left behind—and how to raise a family.
Along with Falk, Mortal Media’s Maldonado, Britt-Gibson and Smith, Blake Griffin, Ryan Kalil and Noah Weinstein will also executive produce. Fox Entertainment is the studio.
Falk is the creator and executive producer of the FX/FXX series you are the worst which ran for 5 seasons and starred Chris Geere, Aya Cash, Desmin Borges and Kether Donohue. He was also a writer and co-executive producer of the popular Showtime series weed and that of Netflix Orange is the new black. Maldonado is gearing up for his return to the small screen in Season 2 of the Starz wrestling drama series heels in the role of Rooster Robbins. Additionally, he will reprise the role of Coach Long on ABC The Wonder Years for the second season which drops this summer.
He currently stars in the film as Kyle house partythe reboot/remake of the comedy of the same name from 1990. Other credits include Straight from Compton, Maya and the three, The last OGand blackness. Maldonado is represented by Red Baron Management and Goodman, Genow, Schenkman, et al.
Britt-Gibson is best known for bringing the character Darius “O-Dog” Hill to life in the critically acclaimed HBO series The cable in seasons 4 and 5, in his small screen debut.
