A woman had a cockroach removed from her vagina after she went to the doctor and complained of an “extremely strange” feeling in her genitals.
The patient, whose name has not been released, arrived at the Honduras clinic complaining of “extreme restlessness, agitation and sweating.”
She also couldn’t sleep the night before, and said it felt like there was something “extremely strange” in her vagina.
Doctors were stunned when an examination revealed the dead bug inside her.

It was immediately removed and the woman was released for injuries after an investigation.
Doctors treating the woman in Tegucigalpa, the country’s capital, said they had previously encountered condoms and sex toys stuck in patients’ genitals
But they were “very scared” when they saw the insect – a first for the hospital.
Dr. Marco Calix, a gynecologist caring for the patient, said: “[The woman] said she had something unusual in her vagina.
“When I put the speculum in, I saw it was an insect. Actually, I had to turn off something like a cockroach.”
A speculum is a device used by doctors to look inside parts of the body, such as a vagina.
It was unclear how the cockroach got into the woman’s body or how long she had been there.

Doctors were shocked to see the insect in her ear canal while conducting an examination in Vietnam.
But Dr Calix said the woman was from a “rural area” and was already dead when the bug was removed.
A number of cases of bugs becoming entangled in humans are reported each year, with doctors at an Alabama hospital saying they treat up to five cases a year.
But it’s usually in areas like the ears.
It is extremely rare for a cockroach – the most common insect that experts say invades a person – to be seen in a person’s vagina.
Insects that enter the body can be dangerous as they damage sensitive tissues, e.g. B. in the vagina or in the ear, scratching and causing infections.
Warning signs of discomfort are pain or swelling in the affected area.
Dr. Calix added that when it comes to vaginas, bugs stuck inside can cause abnormal or foul-smelling discharge, bleeding, swelling or a rash.
It comes after a mosquito was found in the ear of a woman in Vietnam who went to the doctor complaining about the buzzing.
She came to the clinic in Dien Bien province with the complaint.
The doctors examined her with a small camera and found that there was a mosquito in her ear canal.
It was a nasty shock to the woman, who had no idea, but she quickly had it removed to prevent ear damage.
In 2019, doctors used long, thin forceps to extract the insect. They said the bugs could easily fly into someone’s ear.
