Emmy Rossum has welcomed a second child with husband Sam Esmail, she announced Thursday morning.
The star shared with her Instagram followers that they now have a son who was born on Wednesday. “On a foggy Wednesday morning our son was born,” the brunette beauty wrote in her caption.
There was also a close-up of the newborn’s face.
The 36-year-old Shameless actress, who didn’t look pregnant when she was spotted at Disneyland in December, also shared that she was carrying the baby herself when she posted a bump photo.
Her pregnancy was a closely guarded secret as she was not spotted with a baby bump and there were no rumors that she was pregnant.
Emmy and Sam already have a two-year-old daughter, Samantha.

In her new post on Thursday, Emmy shared a photo of a card with a cast of her newborn son’s feet and some information.
He was born on April 5th at 10:40 am and weighs 6 pounds 14 ounces. He is also 19.5 inches tall.
There was also a photo of her bare baby bump as she pulled up her shirt to show off her big belly, proving that she was carrying the child herself.
She also kept her first pregnancy a secret.
Rossum made the surprising announcement at the end of May 2021 via Instagram.
In an accompanying caption, which included two glowing pregnancy photos and a photo of her baby girl’s footprint, the star wrote: “24.5.21 At 8.13am on a sunny Monday morning we welcomed our daughter into the world.”

The star’s Instagram slideshow began with a black-and-white photo showing off her baby bump in a white sports bra and open-toe jeans.
She poses with her hands in her pockets and stares stoically at the camera, her wavy brunette hair partially covering her face.
On the second take, Esmail stood behind Rossum with her hands on her stomach as she tenderly placed a hand on his shoulder.
While the couple didn’t share a photo of their newborn, Emmy gave her followers a glimpse of her daughter’s tiny footprint in the final part of her slideshow.

Just over half an hour later, she returned to Instagram to share another pregnancy photo she took at her and Esmail’s house.
“Two weeks before our daughter was born,” she revealed in the caption as she posed with her stomach exposed in front of a window.
Emmy never announced that she was expecting a child, which shocked many fans and followers with her birth announcement.
The Phantom of the Opera actress was married in 2017 to the creator of Mr. Robot married, almost seven years after her brief marriage to music performer Justin Siegel from 2008 to 2010.
