Quentin Tarantino is promoting his new book Cinema Speculation and at a recent event in New York, the director revealed that he plans to shoot an eight-episode series next year in 2023. Tarantino did not provide details on what the production will involve , but it won’t be the first time he’s worked on TV. He previously directed two episodes of CSI: Crime Scene Investigation in 2005. Since then the director was in talks to direct the FX installments Justified rebirth.
The television project could be Size lawwhich is the imaginary show which Leonardo Dicaprioprotagonist of Once upon a time in Hollywood. She previously said, “I’ve written a comedy and I’ve written five episodes of a TV series. It’s the bounty law. Previously she explained:
“Watching different old western shows and all that, I made it to get inside Bounty Law’s head. I ended up really liking the idea of Jake Cahill as a character. I really started loving those half-hour 50s western scripts. The idea that you could write something like 24 minutes, where there was so much history crammed into those half hour shows, with a real beginning, middle and end. It was also quite fun because you can’t keep doubling down and exploring. At some point, you have to conclude. I really liked that idea. I wrote five different episodes for a possible half-hour black-and-white Bounty Law western show.
If it isn’t Size lawI don’t know what he’s planning, but I’d love to see him develop that series! Whether he shoots the project next year, I’m sure we’ll find out soon enough.
During the event, he was also asked which comic book he would adapt if given the choice, and Tarantino said he would be open to making a movie based on Marvel Comics. The sergeant. Fury and his Howling Commandos, which would be perfect for him! This was actually an influence on his film Inglourious Basterds. The sergeant. Fury” follows Nick Fury and the adventures of the WWII unit of the same name, which appeared in Captain America: The First Avenger.
Tarantino recently said he’ll never direct a Marvel movie because he’s not “a mercenary,” but he’s obviously somewhat open to the idea!
