Barefoot Christina Applegate receives her star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame

After announcing in August last year that she has multiple sclerosis, Christina Applegate made one of her first public appearances to receive her star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. It was this Monday, November 14, and the actress was accompanied by Katey Sagal and David Faustino, colleagues of “Married with children”; Linda Cardellini and Liz Feldmann.

Applegate should have received this recognition in 2020, but the pandemic arrived and then the diagnosis halfway through the production of the third season of ‘Dead to Me’. She took to the podium at the ceremony with the help of Sagal, who stayed with her, holding her close, throughout the speech. Moved, Applegate dedicated that moment to her daughter,”the most important person in this world”whom he thanked for being by his side during his illness.

In an interview with Variety ahead of the event, Applegate told the outlet that filming the final season of ‘Dead to me’ while battling MS was “difficult as you can imagine” and that he had to arrive at filming in a wheelchair each day. The new episodes will premiere on Netflix on November 17: “People will see me as a disabled person for the first time, and that’s very difficult,” said the actress.

Applegate was born in Los Angeles in 1971 and began his career at age 10 in ‘The King of Cobras’. After many roles in different series and some movies like ‘Beatlemania’ his big international break would come in ‘Married with Children’. Emmy and Tony winner, we have seen Applegate in ‘Mars Attacks!’, ‘The Sweetest Thing’, ‘Friends’ as Rachel’s sister, ‘Carte Blanche’, ‘The Reporter: The Legend of Ron Burgundy’ and ‘ The masters of the news’, ‘Vacanze’ and ‘Bad mothers’ and ‘The great chaos (Bad mothers 2)’.

Not alone

During the presentation of the star, going on stage, Katey Sagal told her partner and friend through tears: “You are not alone. We are all here”. And Applegate isn’t alone in diagnosing either.
