Sylvester Stallone And Arnold Schwarzenegger they’re good friends now and have appeared in movies with each other and carved pumpkins together, but that wasn’t always the case. During the 80s and 90s when they were rivals at the box office, they really hated each other!
Stallone recently opened up about this in a recent interview with Forbes. At the time, it was always suspected that they didn’t get along, and now it’s been confirmed. Stallone shared:
“We really disliked each other immensely. We were… this may sound a little vain, but I think we were pioneering a kind of genre at the time and it hasn’t been seen since. So the competition, because it’s his nature, he’s very competitive and so am I… and I just thought it actually helped, but off screen we were still competitive and it wasn’t a healthy thing at all, but we became really good friends.”
Talking about a recent episode of The Jonathan Ross Show (via Insider), Stallone also said, “We couldn’t bear to be in the same galaxy together for a while. We really, really loathed each other.
It’s pretty wild! Now the two seem to enjoy working together and spending time together which is great! Schwarzenegger has appeared in the Stallone action franchise the Expendables and also appeared in the 2013 action film Escape plan. It was nice to see them act together in another action movie sometime!
During their rivalry, Stallone starred in action films such as Rambo, Cobra, Tango and Cash, The Specialist, Judge Dredd, and more. While Schwarzenegger starred in The Terminator, Conan: The Barbarian, the Predator, Commandoand more.
