Earlier this week, it was announced that Lucasfilm would be partnering with Studio Ghibli, the legendary anime studio that brought us films like Princess Mononoke, Howl’s Moving Castle, Spirited Away, Totoro, and more to develop a mysterious Star Wars project.
Not long after the announcement, Studio Ghibli posted a photo with a small statue of Grogu on social media The Mandalorian with the quote “This is the way”. The photo also has a blurry image of Hayao Miyazaki sitting at the table in the background.
It has now been confirmed that Studio Ghibli will play Grogu The Mandalorian series and is titled Zen – Grogu and the Dust Bunnies. This will be the first time Grogu has appeared in an animated project, and it’s fitting that Studio Ghibli is the studio that brings this lovable character into animation form for the first itme.
