The Spanish box office continues to decline. The total of the 20 highest-grossing films of the weekend it reaches 3.75 million euros rather loose, according to data from Comscore. Just over half a million viewers went to the cinema between Friday and Sunday. A new barrage of previews (more than fifteen novelties) was largely ignored by the public, which continued to keep The Rock at the top of the charts for the third consecutive week.

‘Black Adam’ does not descend from the throne and adds 737,787 euros, a figure that makes it quite clear how the weekend went. It represents a 38% drop compared to the previous week, but still has an average per cinema of over € 2,000, which is very positive for Jaume Collet-Serra’s film. Its total now exceeds 5.5 million euros, but the million viewers still resist it (we are talking about 815,363). His next rival to beat in the annual rankings is “The Bad Guys”, which collected € 7.22 million. But things get complicated with the arrival of Marvel and “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever”.
“The fourth passenger” also holds the position. Álex de la Iglesia’s film adds € 574,500 to a total of € 1.79 million, very close to the total of “La Nonna”. Its great maintenance stands outdown only 11% from its premiere weekend.
The first premiere to appear on the charts is ‘One Piece Film Red’. The latest “One Piece” movie was released in theaters on Thursday, day in which it came to rank first. Since its premiere it has received € 724,613, but counting from Monday to Friday alone has raised € 446,175 with an average per cinema of over € 1,500. A large amount for a niche film, but the anime has already had enough joy in Spanish territory. It is also much more successful than “One Piece: Stampede” in 2019 (€ 257,452 in total).
Another novelty in fourth position. ’13 exorcisms’ debuts with € 335,000 and an average of € 1,214 per film. Achieves a premiere similar to ’42 seconds’ or ‘Malnazidos’, but he’s a bit loose about what terror usually throws in Spain.
Closes the top 5 ‘The crooked lines of God’, which suffers from the arrival of so much Spanish cinema, but only down 23% from the previous weekend. Add € 330,198 to a total of over € 4.7 million, surpassing ‘Morbius’.
We have to go to the ninth position to find another premiere. It is ‘Don’t look in the eye’, which despite coming from a major label and having Paco León as headliner, has to settle for 141,134 euros in revenue in its first days on billboards. In 12th place ‘Vasil’, with 61,433 euros but a slightly better average per cinema as it made its debut in fewer theaters. Russell Crowe DJs with “The Forging of a Champion”, which collects only 33,663 euros. And the first independent of the week, “El agua”, reached € 28,914 in 50 screens.
Will you return to Wakanda?
“Black Panther: Wakanda Forever” arrives in Spanish cinemas ready to close Phase 4 of the UCM in style, and we hope to bring audiences back to the big screen. The first was close to 8 million euros in the pre-pandemic era, we will see how the sequel will go. It’s not the only noteworthy premiere of the week, as Rodrigo Sorogoyen’s new film, “As bestas,” will also hit theaters. “Icarus and the Minotaur”, “Memories of Paris” or “Tori and Lokita” will also hit theaters this Friday.
