THE The man of tomorrow the movie just took a big step forward and fans of the new DC Universe are excited about it.
After the success of Superman earlier this year, James Gunn has confirmed that pre-production of the highly anticipated sequel is already progressing at full speed.
Gunn shared a photo on Threads showing a thick stack of storyboard papers labeled “Storyboard Sequence #3” with the caption “Storyboard Sequence #3” for The man of tomorrow. That single post was enough to get fans talking about what’s to come after the DCU’s Man of Steel.
When someone asked Gunn if each card represented a single shot, he replied, “No. Some shots require more than one card due to movement in the frame.” It’s a small but significant detail that shows how deep into planning Gunn and his team already are.
The man of tomorrow will bring back David Corenswet as Clark Kent and Nicholas Hoult as Lex Luthor. The film will continue the story that began with Superman, which launched the new DCU under Gunn and Peter Safran.
While the plot remains tightly under wraps, there is heavy speculation that Brainiac will be the film’s main villain. DC fans are also convinced that the film will connect to the ending in some way Peacemaker Season 2 just wrapped up with Max, but it’s unclear how closely these storylines will intertwine.
The film is expected to begin shooting next spring, keeping the project on track for its July 9, 2027 release.
