The flash has yet to be released by Warner Bros. but according to a new report from The Hollywood Reporter, plans for a sequel are already underway. If the first film explodes at the box office, as everyone expects, there is already a script for Lightning 2 written and ready to go.
This script was written by David Leslie Johnson-McGoldrick which he previously co-wrote Aquaman, Aquaman 2, Orphan, Little Red Riding HoodAnd Wrath of the Titans.
The big question is whether they have moved on with a Rapid sequel, they would actually carry it back Ezra Miller reprise their role in the film? They currently face up to 26 years in prison for burglary in an occupied house and petty theft. But, if they really get out of it, would WB still want to work with them? Probably not.
I have a feeling that whatever happens with the future of The flash franchise will not involve Miller. According to Deadline, a source shared that the studio “probably won’t keep Miller playing the Flash in future DC movies.” But who knows, crazier things have happened in Hollywood. I just think the studio would face a major backlash if it worked with Miller again on a new movie.
With the entire DC multiverse going on, it wouldn’t be too difficult to replace Miller with another actor.
The flash will be released on June 23, 2023.
