An intense new trailer and poster have been released for a heartbreaking-looking coming-of-age drama titled West manifesto, in which a family decides to get away from the network in search of a simpler life. But it seems like they are running away from something that may prove difficult to overcome. The film premiered earlier this year at the Mammoth Film Festival, where it won the Best Genre Film Award. It is co-written and co-directed by Joe Dietsch And Louie Gibsonwho has already made the film Good hunting.
West manifesto stars Annet Mahendru (The Americans, The Walking Dead: the world beyond), Milo Gibson (Crest of the hacksaw, Under the lights of the stadium) Lexy Kolker (Shooter), Michael Cudlitz (Sudland, The walking dead), and comic Tim Heidecker.
Here is the complete synopsis:
Manifest West is a coming-of-age story, told through the eyes of a ten-year-old girl whose family moves off the grid into the wilderness of North America. It is their attempt to establish normality, to thrive on earth and escape the pressures of modern society. But family also has its own internal pressures that increase and you can’t escape what’s going on in your own family no matter how far you move up a mountain.
It sounds really intense, and such a sad story. The cast is fantastic and the film looks really well done. Can’t wait to watch it. Check out the movie trailer and poster below and watch West manifesto in some US theaters and on VOD on November 11th.
