Paramount has released a final trailer for Channing Tatum’s New true crime thriller, Roofmanwhich feels like a wild mix of charm, tension and incredible real-life weirdness.
The film is inspired by the true story of Jeffrey Manchestera former Army Ranger and troubled father who turns to an unusual life of crime.
According to the synopsis, “Roofman follows Jeffrey Manchester (Tatum), a former Army Ranger and troubled father who turns to robbing McDonald’s restaurants by cutting holes in their roofs, earning him the nickname: Roofman.”
After a daring prison escape, Manchester hides on the next level. “After escaping prison, he secretly lives inside a toy for six months, surviving undetected while planning his next move.
“But when he falls in love with Leigh (Kirsten Dunst), a divorced mom drawn to his undeniable charm, her double life begins to unravel, setting off a gripping and suspenseful game of cat and mouse as her past comes full circle. “
The film also features a supporting cast that includes Peter Dinklage, Ben Mendelsohn, Lakeith Stanfield, Juno Temple, Melonie Diaz, Uzo Aduba, Lily CollieAND Jimmy O. Yangwho are all bringing their A-game to this offbeat, character-driven story.
Directed by Derek Cianfrance (The place beyond the pines, Blue Valentine) from a screenplay he co-wrote Kirk GunnRoofman feels like a grounded yet strangely uplifting crime story full of heart and tension.
Cianfrance’s talent for deeply human drama should make this story more than just a heist movie. It’s about desperation, connection and the bizarre pose that people end when life backs them into a corner.
Roofman It hits theaters on October 10, and this trailer promises a gripping, entertaining, and surprisingly emotional ride.
