After a summer in which there was no shortage of options to watch at home, back to school is packed with previews on different streaming platforms throughout the month of September. The main course is the long awaited “The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power”, which arrives with its first two episodes on September 2 on Prime Video, promising the biggest TV show to date. But there is more, much more.
The guys from “Cobra Kai” return on September 9 with their fifth season on Netflix, where we will also see the second installment of “Destiny: The Winx Saga” and the final season of the beloved comedy “Brooklyn Nine-Nine”. On the other hand, Netflix is betting heavily this month on two movie titles, ‘Blonde’, the biopic of Marilyn Monroe with Ana de Armasand ‘Rainbow’, the particular reinterpretation of ‘The Wizard of Oz’ by Paco León.
Disney + will celebrate its Disney + Day on September 8th with a day full of previews, including the live-action remake of “Pinocchio” and “Thor: Love and Thunder”, which comes in streaming after its recent run in theaters. The “Cars: On the road” series and the “Mike” miniseries will also be premiered on that day, followed by a TV classic, “Malcolm”, which will be available on September 14th. Without forgetting, of course, ‘Andor’, the new live-action series of ‘Star Wars’, and ‘Return of the Witches 2’, which will close the month in style.
Finally, we highlight the HBO Max docuseries on the Armie Hammer scandal, “The Hammer House: Scandal and Perversion”, the return of “Rick and Morty” and “The Handmaid’s Tale” to the same platform, as well as an avalanche of recent movie releases: ‘Licorice Pizza’, ‘Sonic 2: The Movie’, ‘Belfast’ and many more.
