Trevor Slattery’s return to the MCU in “Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings” was just the beginning. The actor who played all of us in “Iron Man 3” posing as the dreaded Mandarin has a new project within Marvel, then Ben Kingsley returns to the franchise again. According to Variety, the actor joins the cast of the “Wonder Man” series.

This title has not yet been confirmed by Marvel Studios in its plans for Phases 5 and 6, but we have long known that it would be in the works with Destin Daniel Cretton, director of ‘Shang-Chi’, as producer. Trevor Slattery would play a major role in Simon Williams’ character-centered series.
Simon made his cartoon appearance in 1964, in the hands of Stan Lee, Jack Kirby and Don Heck. He is the son of the founder of Williams Innovations, a rival company of Stark Industries. When they can’t stand up to the competition, Simon accepts Baron Zemo’s proposal to infiltrate the Avengers and gains his powers.. Although he started out as a villain, he later spent time on the side of heroes and even became a founding member of the West Coast Avengers.
A Hollywood parody?
But the curious thing about its history is that he also becomes a successful actor and stuntman taking advantage of the fact that one of his superpowers is being invulnerable to arms. According to some rumors, the series could be a parody of the Hollywood industry, so it would make sense that they wanted to have a character like Trevor Slattery in their cast. Will they also call Kingo (Kumail Nanjiani)?
Until Marvel makes the “Wonder Man” series official, we can’t expect many more details or where it would fit in the MCU. But on 9 September Expo D23 begins and the House of Ideas has promised some surprises for Disney convention attendees, so don’t stray too far.
