Jimmy Fallon Says Celebrities Tell Him Privately Their Movies Are ‘So Bad’

Jimmy Fallon he built Tonight’s show into a light-hearted late-night experience since he took over in 2014. From his hilarious “Thank You Notes” to those viral lip-syncing battles and celebrity sketches, Fallon has made his show a place for stars to relax, laugh and even make fun of themselves.

But as it turns out, that relaxed atmosphere leads to some surprisingly candid conversations backstage, including some confessions about how bad the movies they’re promoting are.

In a recent interview with Forbes, Fallon revealed that guests sometimes pull him aside and admit that their latest projects suck. Fallon shared,

“I’ve had guests where they were, like, ‘I hope you haven’t seen this movie, it’s so bad.’ I’ll just say, “We don’t have to go into details.” There’s always something good in every project.’”

Classic Fallon, always keeps things light and positive. While some hosts might be looking for a juicy joke, Fallon prefers to focus on the fun.

Fans of the show know that he is great at spoofing movies with his guests. There was that time he and Jamie Lee Curtis recreated her aerobics scene from Perfect, or When Michael Keaton joined him for a children’s version of Birdman.

Fallon clearly loves movies, both the good ones and the bad ones, and it’s not exactly shocking that some stars aren’t fans of their own films. Halle Berry famously roasted Catwoman while accepting his Razzie Award and, recently, Dakota Johnson he didn’t hold back when he talked about it Mrs. Websaying she wasn’t surprised it had been “torn to pieces” by critics.

Whether an actor loves his movie or not, Fallon’s charm ensures that they will laugh at it.
