More than 15 years have passed, but Jennifer’s Body still resonates with its target audience, and director Karyn Kusama is grateful for the film’s cult status, Deadline writes.
After screenwriter Diablo Cody expressed interest in making a sequel, Deadline spoke with Kusama about her idea for a “fun and crazy” sequel, recalling the creation of the original 2009 horror-comedy film before meeting star Megan Fox at a screening at the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures: “I know she’s working on it right now and I can’t wait to see what comes of it. I know some of the details so I won’t give anything away, but it sounds fun.” and it sounds crazy, just like the first movie. “I have no doubt that Diablo will do something absolutely incredible with this.”
Due to the mismarketing of the original film and the media’s attacks on Fox, Kusama said she was “so grateful that the film found the audience” and became a cult classic. He was particularly pleased to guest star on Prime Video’s Fox series Overcompensation.
By the way, we have previously written about why movies featuring Hollywood stars no longer attract the attention of viewers.
