The fans of Friday 13th the franchise has something to shout about. Brad Caleb Kanethe showrunner behind the next one EN: Welcome to Derryconfirmed that his next horror project, the Friday 13th prequel series Crystal Lakehas officially concluded filming.
Kane took to Instagram to share the exciting update, writing,
“The CRYSTAL LAKE wrap party was epic! I am madly in love and in total awe of this stellar group of artists and humans. A guy couldn’t ask for a more talented and wonderful group of collaborators. S1 (mostly not quite) done and dusted. Again please and thank you.”
The imminent Crystal Lake the series is produced by A24 and directed at Peacock, and is the protagonist Linda Cardellini as Pamela Voorhees, the infamous mother of horror icon Jason Voorhees.
In the original Friday 13thPamela was the one wielding the machete, avenging her son’s death at Camp Crystal Lake. Since this new series is described as a prequel, it’s unclear whether we’ll see the same plot play out. But I imagine Kane and team will dive deeper into the twisted origins of the Voorhees family legend.
Crystal Lake It doesn’t have a release date yet, but I can’t wait to see how this show turns out.
