According to Marvel TV chief Brad Winderbaum, the Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 will tie directly into Spider-Man: The New Daylinking the Man Without Fear and the wall-crawler together in meaningful ways.
In a recent interview with Entertainment Weekly, Winderbaum joked, “There’s a lot of communication between the two teams” to make sure the show and movie are connected.
Without giving too much away, he explained it Born again “A lot exists in the same world [as Brand New Day]and it’s important. We are in a shared universe together.
“The Daredevil and Punisher comics portray a certain tone and idea of New York in a different way than Spider-Man. But they both exist in the same universe: everything aligns and the impacts are felt, but we are able to tell different stories.”
This is exciting news for fans who have long been hoping to see Matt Murdock and Peter Parker cross paths again. New day will reportedly explore how Spider-Man fits into a New York under the watchful eye of Mayor Wilson Fisk, who is enforcing strict anti-vigilante laws. It looks like Peter will have his hands full, but don’t count on seeing him Tom Holland appear alongside Matt in Born Again for now.
When asked about the possibility of other defenders like Iron Fist or Luke Cage appearing Born again season two, Winderbaum made it clear that the focus remains on the main story.
He said the season is “a little deeper” than any surprise cameos and added, “There are rewards for the fans, but it’s really about the stakes of this world that this Kingpin is building in New York City.”
So while Spider-Man may not come to Hell’s Kitchen right away, Born again is laying the groundwork for a shared, street-level Marvel world that feels grounded, gritty, and connected. The ripple effects of the ongoing war between Matt and Fisk will be felt throughout the city and in the events of New day.
Daredevil: Born Again returns in 2026, with Spider-Man: The New Day will be released in theaters on July 31, 2026.
