Flynn lives! New Tron: Ares Trailer puts the spotlight on Flynn and his inheritance

Disney has just unleashed a new fantastic trailer Tron: AresAnd while the film is full of new videos, characters and high-tech show, the real reflector belongs Jeff Bridges.

For long -standing fans, seeing Kevin Flynn in the mix is the emotional nucleus of this trailer, even if most of his presence come from films drawn from the first two films.

Bridges was the heartbeat of this franchise from the original Tron He debuted over 40 years ago. Is back Tron: Legacy 15 years later, where Flynn apparently sacrificed to save his son Sam.

That end left the fans who ask themselves if we never saw him again, which makes his presence here even more exciting. Whether this is really Flynn or something else is the great mystery.

In the film, Ares (Jared Leto) must return to the 1982 grid at some point in history, and it is here that Flynn seems to be still existing. But how? Is it the same Flynn we knew, or some new event? The trailer makes fun of the possibility without giving answers, which feeds only speculation.

Obviously, Tron: Ares It doesn’t really concern Flynn. The film follows Ares, described as “a highly sophisticated program, Ares (played by Jared Leto), who is sent from the digital world in the real world in a dangerous mission, marking the first meeting of humanity with artificial intelligence beings”.

That plot dominates the second half of the trailer, highlighting the conflict between programs and humanity, which could make or break the success of the film.

Directed by Joachim RønningThe film is invoiced as a direct sequel to both Tron AND Tron: Legacyexpanding mythology while continuing its roots in letters. The script, written Jesse Wigutow AND Jack ThorneThe legacy of the original creators continues Steven Lisberger AND Bonnie Macbird.

The cast includes Evan Peters, Jodie Turner-Smith, Cameron Monaghan, Sarah Desjardins, Hasan Minhaj, Arturo CastroAND Gillian AndersonNext to Leto and Bridges.

Flynn’s return may not be the center of history, but gives this film the connective tissue that binds decades Tron betray together. The nostalgia mixed with new bold ideas makes this one step intriguing for the franchise.
