One announcement – and the fan forums exploded: director James Gann revealed the details of the “Man of Tomorrow”, and what the audience is waiting in 2027, is already called “fanfiction on steroids”.
Gann first said that the most important conflict of the film is the forced union of Superman (David Korenvet) and Lex Luther (Nicholas Holt). Two eternal enemy will make the threat so large -scale that they must unite.
“This is a story, not only about Superman, but also about Lex. This character is close to me and the script is one of my loved ones,” the director admits.
Gann does not hide that he was infused with the character of Luther:
“I really enjoyed working with Nicholas Holt, and, I admit, unfortunately, I can associate myself with Lex in many ways. I wanted to make something very special for these two.”
Production starts in April 2026.
Fans, however, took the news in hostility. Social networks and forums are filled with doubts:
“Scenario – Pure Fan Fiction”, “Where is the comic book classic? This is not right at all.”
For many fans, the idea of the Superman and Lutor Union is a challenge for foundations: Lutor has resisted a steel man all his life, and even rare alliances in comics were always built on betrayal and doubles.
Nevertheless, there are precedents: in the comics of the sixties, Luther and Clark started as friends, and in the “Secrets of Smolville” their story also started with confidence, ending with tragedy.
While the plot details are kept secret and GANN himself ensures that the “Man of Tomorrow” is not only a follow -up, but an independent story for both characters. It is known that Isabel Merced (Houkgerl) and Eddie Gatega (Mr. Terifik) will return to their roles.
The sequel “Superman” will be released on July 9, 2027. It is not that long to wait.
