Marvel Studios’ The Fantastic Four: First Steps It does not waste time to immerse yourself in the beginning of the team, and does it with an exciting nod to comics. The film opens with a assembly of their history of origin and their first showdown with Mole Man.
Spoiler in front!
In an epic moment directly from the classic Marvel tradition, the Pan AM building sinks to Midtown Manhattan.
The team, decorated in their blue and black costumes, eventually lowers Giganto and capture Harvey Elder, better known by fans of comics as a Mole Man. But this is not the last time we see it.
Later, it was revealed that his Storm mediated a peace agreement between the underground and the surface world through his work with the United Nations.
After Silver Surfer drops his threatening warning, Harvey reappears, looking at the team’s press conference. In an unexpected turn, Sue invites him to the Baxter building during the final act of the film.
With Galactus coming and New York City in danger, the city must quickly evacuate. His convinces Harvey to let millions take refuge in the basement, but not in front of a strong exchange of words between him and the human torch, with Mr. Fantastic offering one of the most humorous lines of the film by calling him “Mole Man”.
Once the city descends underground, Harvey enters an almost heroic role, opening his underground world to the people of the surface, including Natasha LyonneCharacter, Rachel Rozman.
There have been rumors of larger arches for both characters, but these plans have been apparently reduced to keep this restart in two hours.
As for the so -called Moloids, Marvel has adopted an approach to the ground. Instead of the monstrous creatures of the comics, they are normal people who have joined Harvey to build a life under New York. They wear mineral equipment and glasses that weakly resemble the large aspect and the bug eyes of their comic counterparts. It is an intelligent visual nod, although some fans may find it a little disappointing.
What is surprising is how the MCU launches the script on Mole Man. Instead of making it a villain of a note, the film portrays it as a reluctant ally, which I appreciated. This move adds a refreshing dynamic and creates intriguing possibilities for the future.
In addition, with drops named like Wizard, The Mad Phinker and Diablo sprayed for the whole story, Marvel clearly has many bad guys who wait behind the scenes.
We will see more Paul Walter Hauser As Mole Man remains, but his role here has a very practical purpose. Relating the New York underground during the battle of Galactus, Marvel elaborates every man of steel -style backlash for mass victims.
I liked the way they managed Mole Man in the film and I hope we can see more than the character.
