Disney+ is immersing itself more deeply in the Korean criminal drama with Golden landa new original series of Oldboy screenwriter Hwang Jo-Yoon. It is described as a “frenetic series on smuggling, loan sharks and the fugitive of the past”.
The show marks the streaming debut of Hwang and the story focuses on Heeju, “a woman from a remote city that is accidentally in possession of gold bars by a ring of smuggling. Being in a van full of gold and pursued by dangerous criminals, Heeju’s races towards the only place that voted to never return.”
Park Bo-Young stars like Kim Heeju, “a woman determined to desperate to escape her past, while Kim Sung-Cheol He plays Jang Wook (nicknamed “Woogy”), a member of the criminal organization that hunted Heeju who grew up in his neighborhood. “
The series is led by the director Kim Sung-Hoonknown for Head Detective 1958 AND Reserved assignment.
