The project was announced at the Annecy International Animation Film Festival by the President and CEO of Laika Travis Knightwho directed Kubo and the two ropes and imminent Wildwood.

“I am excited to have returned to the world of stop-motion animation that works with a team of incredible craftsmen who tell stories one frame at a time,” said August.

“In reality, everything related to stop-motion is expensive in terms of time and difficult, but the results have a consistency and authenticity that cannot be replicated. You can feel the fingerprints of all those who have touched it.”

August projects embrace animation, live-action and even podcasting and include Large fish. Charlie’s Angels, Titan AE, Charlie’s Angels: Full ThrottleAND Charlie and the Chocolate Factory (2005).

Beyond the screen, it is also known as the conductor of Scriptnotes podcast with Craig Mazinwhere they analyze the craftsmanship for the script for a dedicated following.

With the 2025 that marks the 20th anniversary of Laika, the study is clearly clear that the future is full of strange narration, stylized and full of feeling.
