The Mystery Inc. band is returning to the form of a live-action Scooby-doo Series on Netflix. The series is officially going on, with Ninja Ninja Mutant Teen Mutants AND Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol writer Josh Appelbaum AND Poison AND Jumanji: Welcome to the jungle writer Scott Rosenberg guiding the project as a showrunner.
The eight episodes will bring fans back to the first days of Mystery Inc., focusing on how Shaggy, Daphne, Velma and Freddy First Cross Paths with their future beloved Dane. But don’t expect the usual carefree buffFonate because this show begins with a supernatural murder.
According to the official synopsis, “during their last summer at the field, the old Shaggy and Daphne friends are involved in an obsessive mystery that surrounds a dane lost lonely puppy that may have witnessed a supernatural murder.
“Together with the pragmatic and scientific citizen, Velma and the strange, but always so beautiful new child, Freddy, have decided to solve the case that each of them is pulling in a disturbing nightmare that threatens to exhibit all their secrets.”
While the series is described as a “one -hour drama”, it is also compared to Riverdale. This suggests that we could look at a more triggered vision than Scooby-doo Formula, which is something that will probably trigger curiosity and debate among longtime fans.

Gberlanti has a personal link with the classic cartoon, remembering: “One of my first and favorite jobs in Hollywood was sitting with Bill Hanna and Joe Barbera while signing animation cells.
“Josh and Scott and everyone on midnight radio have made a story that captures their incredible spirit and their brilliant creation. We are grateful to them and everyone to Warners and Netflix for the partnership in helping this iteration of Scooby-doo to life! “
Clancy Collins White, president of creative affairs, Warner Bros. Television added: “It is not a mystery why the audience continues to love these iconic characters after more than half a century. Fans saw Scooby-doo reinvented several times over the years, from the original cartoon of Hanna-Barbera to the 2002 live-action films starring Freddie Prinze Jr., Sarah Michelle Gellar, Matthew LillardAND Linda Cardellini. But this Netflix series marks the first time Scooby-doo It was brought to the live action for television.
As for how Scooby himself will be portrayed, nothing has been confirmed, but CGI seems to be the obvious choice.
