George Lucas’ Star Wars theatrical cut is now streaming

Star Wars Fans fought for a long time to find an official streaming option for the original theater cut from 1977 Star Wars: a new hopeThis is the version of the film before George Lucas He started making all the protagonist changes in the 80s.

Now, for a limited time, that version of the film is available for streaming, but you will need a Roku device and access an app called Cinema Box.

This particular cut is a rarity in the digital era. Unlike specially available special editions, it does not have the Episode IV: a new hope Subtitle in opening opening, which Lucas did not add until 1981.

Finding this version of the film is difficult and the only real way to be able to watch it was on VHS, Laserdisc or the 2006 DVD version that included the theatrical cut.

The streaming services, including Disney+, have only offered the altered versions, making this appearance to the cinema a very rare opportunity.

The real question, however, is what will last. Cinema Box hosted the theatrical cut before, just to disappear without notice. It cannot be said when this will happen again. If you have a Roku, it could now be the time to act before it disappears in darkness.

So if you want to experiment Star Wars Just as the audience did in 1977, now it’s your opportunity!
