Masterpiece on PBS has released a fantastic first teaser trailer for the upcoming series Miss Austenan adaptation of Gill Hornby bestselling novel, starring Keeley Hawes AND Rose Leslie.
Set in the 1830s, the story “takes a literary mystery – Cassandra Austen (Hawes) famously burning her famous sister Jane’s letters – and reinvents it as a heartbreaking story of brotherly love.”
The series was adapted by BAFTA-winning writer, Andrea Gibb (Elizabeth has disappeared), and directed by the BAFTA winner Aisling Walsh.
It’s also in the cast Synnove Karlsen (Last night in Soho), Patsy Ferran (Life), Max Ferri (The wife), Alfred Enoch (How to get away with murder), Calam Lynch (Bridgerton) AND Phyllis Logan (Downton Abbey).
This sounds like an interesting take on the Austen women and will be a wonderful story about sisters. Check out the trailer below and watch Miss Austen when it premieres on PBS on May 4.
