DEXTER prequel series about John Lithgow’s ‘Trinity Killer’ moves forward with Clyde Phillips and Scott Reynolds as co-creators

THE Right the prequel series that follows the origins of the infamous Trinity Killer serial, played by John Lithgow in the parent series, remains “in development” at Paramount+ with Showtime. Original Right showrunner Clyde Phillips and co Right veteran Scott Reynolds will serve as co-creator and executive producer of the spin-off prequel series.

Despite rumors that the show had been shut down, sources said they had set up a development room for the project earlier this spring. The scripts have been written, and Phillips shared an update on the Trinity Killer branch with Deadline during promotion Dexter: Original sin in New York earlier this month.

“We wrote the entire Trinity Killer series. It’s on the back burner at the moment. John Lithgow agreed to voice his younger self, as Michael Hall is doing [Original Sin]. Here’s that and we’ll do another show with Michael C. Hall, [Resurrection]… We were writing it while filming Original sinso it’s quite busy. Let’s start rolling [Resurrection] in January and will air in June 2025.

Showtime and Phillips’ attention was focused Original sinpremiered on December 13, with Resurrectionthe continuation of the highly rated limited series Dexter: New Bloodalso as top priority.
