THE Right the prequel series that follows the origins of the infamous Trinity Killer serial, played by John Lithgow in the parent series, remains “in development” at Paramount+ with Showtime. Original Right showrunner Clyde Phillips and co Right veteran Scott Reynolds will serve as co-creator and executive producer of the spin-off prequel series.
Despite rumors that the show had been shut down, sources said they had set up a development room for the project earlier this spring. The scripts have been written, and Phillips shared an update on the Trinity Killer branch with Deadline during promotion Dexter: Original sin in New York earlier this month.
“We wrote the entire Trinity Killer series. It’s on the back burner at the moment. John Lithgow agreed to voice his younger self, as Michael Hall is doing [Original Sin]. Here’s that and we’ll do another show with Michael C. Hall, [Resurrection]… We were writing it while filming Original sinso it’s quite busy. Let’s start rolling [Resurrection] in January and will air in June 2025.
Showtime and Phillips’ attention was focused Original sinpremiered on December 13, with Resurrectionthe continuation of the highly rated limited series Dexter: New Bloodalso as top priority. Resurrectionwhich will be narrated by Patrick Gibson who plays young Dexter Original sinwas gradually launched in Original sin premiere which revealed that Dexter survived the shooting that was supposed to permanently kill him by his son Harrison (Jack Alcott) at Dexter’s request.
Network and studio executives are probably waiting to see how, too Original sin it is used to evaluate whether there is a desire to do something else Right expansion of the universe before engaging with Trinity. So far, things are looking as promising as the series premiere Dexter: Original sin according to Paramount Global, it garnered 2.1 million global viewers on Paramount+ and Showtime in its first three days of availability. The company also says it’s the most streamed Showtime premiere ever, though it didn’t say how much of that audience came from streaming.
