Intense trailer for Joe Carnahan’s NOT WITH HOPE, based on the true story of a deep-sea rescue boat

An amazing full trailer for the drama has been released Not without hopea film based on the true story of a group of friends who go deep sea fishing and end up fighting for their lives in an epic storm.

The film is the protagonist Zechariah Levi as Nick Schuyler, Quentin Plair in the role of Marquis Cooper, Terrence Terrell as Corey Smith, Marshall Cook as Will Bleakley, with Josh Duhamel as Captain of the Coast Guard and JoBeth Williams in the role of Marcia.

The film is directed by Joe Carnahan (Smoking aces, The A-Team, The Grey) from a screenplay he collaborated on E. Nicola Mariani. The screenplay is based on the book of the same name by Nick Schuyler AND Jere Longman.

The synopsis reads: “An extraordinary true story. Best friends Nick Schuyler (Zachary Levi) and Will Bleakley (Marshall Cook), and NFL players Marquis Cooper (Quentin Plair) and Corey Smith (Terrence Terrell), set out from Clearwater, Florida, on a fishing trip 70 miles into the Gulf of Mexico.

“While attempting to free a trapped anchor before a storm hit, their boat capsized, violently throwing the friends into the freezing water. U.S. Coast Guard Cpt.

“Timothy Close (Josh Duhamel) and his crew, rebuffed in their air rescue efforts, summon their largest vessel to cross the stormy ocean as the group battles massive waves, dehydration, hypothermia, and even sharks, in their epic fight to survive and return to their loved ones.”

This looks like a great movie to enjoy the holiday season with the family. Check out the trailer below and watch Not without hope when it releases in Canadian theaters on December 5, 2025 and in the United States on December 12.
