Marvel actors Simu Liu and Tenoch Huerta weigh in on the filming of AVENGERS: DOOMSDAY and share the set with the legends

Avengers: Judgment Day are currently filming and fans aren’t the only ones impressed with the cast. Some of the MCU’s new stars were impressed by some of the veteran actors on set, and two of them spoke out about their experiences. Simu Liuwho plays Shang-Chi in his own Marvel franchise, explained that sharing the stage with the X-Men was a very emotional moment for him.

During a recent Q&A session, Liu carefully explained, “I mean, what an incredible call to get. I experienced a lot of waves of excitement. I think first I got that call and then I knew who else was going to be there, some of whom I had had the pleasure of meeting and some of whom I hadn’t met yet.

“But every one of them… just iconic, iconic people. I think this is public now, but like Sir Ian McKellen, Sir Patrick Stewart, just people that I grew up watching and idolizing. And then maybe I had, maybe I had the opportunity to do scenes with them at some point.

“It may or may not have been better, that would be something I would maybe say if I was in the movie.”

Another Marvel star, Tenoch Huertawho played Namor Black Panther: Wakanda Forever talked about meeting Robert Downey Jr. on the Avengers: Judgment Day set in a recent interview on El CAPI Pérez. Downey, who previously played the MCU’s Iron Man, was filming scenes as the villainous Doctor Doom, and Huerta was taken by surprise.

“It’s really cool, man. The guy looks really young too,” the Namor actor said. “The fact is that I wasn’t on the scene. I went to the directors, I wanted to talk to them about a few lines and meet them live.

“When I was there, [he] he comes over to look at the monitors and I say, ‘Oh, absolutely not!’ I actually said, ‘Damn, I left my knee pads at the hotel, man!'”

It seems likely that the two villains will share the screen at some point in the film, but we’ll just have to wait and see.
