There are many exciting new projects in the works at Warner Bros. for fans of the Harry Potter series. The new series is coming to HBO Max and a new revelation tells us that the series will connect to the sequel to the video game by The Hogwarts Legacywhich was the best-selling game of 2023.
The Warner Bros. Games division also churned out Harry Potter: Quidditch Championsreleased in August, and a remastered version of LegoHarry Potter game collection.
It has licensed multiple mobile games to be developed based on the Wizarding World. And Warner Bros. Games is working on the sequel to the video game The Hogwarts Legacywhich represents a “big priority” for Warner Bros.
David Haddad, president of Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment, spoke to Variety about the new game, saying:
“We’ve known for a long time that fans are looking for more in this world, and so we’re spending a lot of time thinking about that.
“Our intuitions tell us that there are no big distinctions between a younger version of a fan and an older version of a fan. They’re just huge ‘Harry Potter’ fans and we try to build authentic experiences to delight them.”
Haddad says the game’s team coordinated some of the game’s larger narrative elements The Hogwarts Legacy sequel with the plots that will take place in Harry Potter HBO series from Warner Bros. Television.
He notes that the success of The Hogwarts Legacy helped fuel confidence that it was the right time to give Potter a major push: “The rest of the company was very curious about what we helped unlock with The Hogwarts Legacy last year.”
