Breaking up during the holidays is just the worst thing, but then being stuck in a house with the person you broke up with would be such a shame.
The trailer for the Christmas comedy-drama Breaking season was released and explores that awkward dynamic. He is the protagonist The walking dead actor Chandler Riggswith Samantha Isler, James Urbaniak, Brook Hogan, Carly StewartAND Jacob Wysocki. It is written and directed by H. Nelson Tracey in his first feature film.
The synopsis reads: “Unemployed but ambitious 24-year-old Ben Russell (Chandler Riggs) brings his girlfriend named Cassie (Samantha Isler) to his rural Oregon hometown to meet his family and celebrate Christmas.
“The arrival is bumpy. The family dynamic brings to light the internal conflict Cassie is having with Ben. On the night of their arrival, a late-night argument turns into a breakup.
“Cassie decides she should go home for Christmas after all… But due to the remote location, a severe snowstorm, and intense holiday travel, she has no way to leave.
“Cassie is now stuck with her newly minted ex and his entire family until Christmas is over.”
It seems like a sweet and original film. I’ve enjoyed following Riggs’ career since he left The walking deadand I liked the projects he chose.
This movie has good reviews from critics and has a different feel than most holiday movies, so it might be fun to check it out. Watch the trailer below and catch Breaking season when it opens in select US theaters on November 15.
