Ryan Reynolds reveals that the original ending of DEADPOOL & WOLVERINE saw the demise of a fan-favorite character

From the digital release and in preparation for the DVD and Blu-ray release of Marvel’s summer blockbuster Deadpool and Wolverinethe star of the film, Ryan Reynoldstook to social media to share some fun behind-the-scenes tidbits with fans.

This week, the actor shared the film’s original imagined ending, which would have included the demise of one of the series’ fan-favorite characters.

Reynolds explained, “I had ‘Like A Prayer’ in my head for the third Deadpool movie since 2017. Before Wolverine came into chat, it was largely going to be the same *single shot, motion-controlled sequence I’d dreamed up.

“But my dance partner was originally COLOSSUS, who was going to die in the previous scene, throwing Deadpool into a state of pure rage and vengeance… all set for [Madonna’s] inspired and singular song, Like A Prayer.

“Obviously Hugh’s arrival changed everyone’s fate. (And Colossus, together with his virginity, remained intact)”

I’m so happy Wolverine joined the party. It’s a big part of what made the movie so good! Along with the other actors, cameos, plot and classic Deadpool humor. I’m also happy I didn’t have to see Colossus bite the big one.

Deadpool and Wolverine is available digitally and will be available on DVD and Blu-Ray on October 22nd.
