Apple TV+ has released the trailer for Quick Shota historical drama about the Second World War by the writer and director Steve McQueen (12 Years a Slave) which took place while Nazi Germany was bombing London.
The stars of the film Saoirse Ronan like Rita, “a distraught mother who frantically searches for her 9-year-old son George (a new arrival Elliott Heffernan) after having sent him into the countryside during the Blitz.”
McQueen spoke about his film: “Blitz is a film about Londoners. It honours the spirit of what and how Londoners endured during the Blitz, but it also explores the true representation of people in London, while at its heart is the story of a working-class family longing to be reunited during wartime.”
The cast also includes Dr. Harris Dickinson, Erin Kellyman, Stephen Graham, My life is beautiful, Paul Weller, Leigh Gill AND Benjamin Clementine.
Blitz will have its world premiere on 9 October at the opening gala of this year’s BFI London Film Festival.
The film will debut in select theaters on November 1, before streaming on Apple TV+ on November 22.
