Director Osgood Perkins returns with another disturbing nightmare that crawls under your skin and stays there. Caretakerhis latest horror film from Neon, has just released a disturbing new trailer, a chilling reminder that a “romantic cabin getaway” is not a good idea in a Perkins film.
This marks Perkins’ third feature film in just two years, and by the looks of it, it’s not slowing down his dark creative streak. Keeper follows a couple, Liz (played by Tatiana Maslanyfresh from her role The Monkey) and Malcolm (Rossif Sutherland), as they retreat to a remote cabin for an anniversary getaway.
But when Malcolm suddenly leaves for town, Liz finds herself alone and the woods begin to whisper of something far more sinister.
The official synopsis reads: “Osgood Perkins’ new film Caretaker follows a couple as they escape for a romantic anniversary weekend at a secluded cabin. When Malcolm (Sutherland) suddenly returns to town, Liz (Maslany) finds herself isolated and in the presence of an unspeakable evil that reveals the cabin’s horrific secrets.
The trailer teases that something truly disturbing is hidden within those walls. Eerie whispers, shadowy figures, and flashes of women who may have met a grisly fate all hint at a deeper mystery, making you wonder what exactly Malcolm “kept” in that cabin.
Perkins has proven himself a master at creating elegant, psychological horror films, and his latest looks bring with them that same eerie elegance, turning isolation and intimacy into tools of fear.
The trailer’s visuals are insanely creepy with its blend of rustic beauty and creeping terror. Keeper will be released in select US theaters on November 14, 2025.
If you like horror films that dig into your mind and don’t let you go, Caretaker It looks like it’s going to be that kind of movie.
