In case you’re wondering if plans have changed for The Batman franchise since the first film came out in 2022, the answer is no.
AS Batman: Part II is gearing up for production, director Matt Reeves says they’re still on track to Robert PattinsonHarry Potter’s Dark Knight will be the protagonist of a trilogy.
The director was asked about it in an interview with Collider, and replied: “Yeah, that’s still the plan. I mean, it’s very much in the path that we had envisioned.”

During a recent interview, Reeves teased: “We shared [the script] like we did with DC, and they’re super excited. It’s going to delve into the epic story of deep corruption and go to places [Bruce Wayne] I couldn’t even predict it in the first one.”
Reeves went on to indicate that certain “fantasy” characters are out of the question. “What was important to me was to find a way to take these pop icons, these mythical characters that everyone knows, and translate them in a way that makes Gotham feel like a place in our world.
“We could push it to the edge of the fantastic, but we would never go into complete fantastic. It’s meant to feel solid.”
It has also been reported that the sequel’s story will be at least partly based on by Geoff Johns Batman: Earth OneThe first film took some inspiration from Vol. 1, so I assume that means the sequel will be more influenced by Volumes 2 and 3.

Writer Mattson Tomlin previously said: “It’s shooting next year. We’re getting ready and I have to say the bar couldn’t be higher.”
The story explores the psychology of Batman as he seeks justice in Gotham. Hush is also said to be one of the film’s big villains.
