Nicole Kidman She has had an epic career as an actress and has starred in so many different film genres and now she wants to try her hand at a hardcore horror film.
During a recent interview with L’Officiel, Kidman praised the recent indie horror hit Talk to meand then he talked about his desire to make horror films.
She said, “I haven’t done any classic horror yet. Hardcore horror. I’m putting this out there because I watch hardcore horror. I’m a Ti West fan!”
I must point out that Kidman has made a horror classic, as she starred in the incredible ghost story of the haunted house The othersI wonder if she forgot she made that film!
The others It’s a fantastic horror film, and Kidman gave a fantastic performance. Now, maybe she’s trying to make a more splatter-fest film?
The others It was directed by Alejandro Amenábar and the story is set in a remote villa on the British island of Jersey, shortly after the Second World War; the story follows Grace Stewart, a devout and religious mother who lives in isolation with her two young children, Anne and Nicholas.
The children suffer from a rare condition that makes them extremely sensitive to light, so the house is kept in perpetual darkness. As Grace hires new servants for the house, strange events begin to unsettle the family.
The children claim to see and communicate with “the others” in the house, leading Grace to believe that their home is haunted. As she investigates these mysterious occurrences, Grace uncovers disturbing truths about her family and the mansion they live in.
I was very impressed by the film’s suspenseful atmosphere, its dark, gothic setting, and the gradual revelation of secrets that test the characters’ understanding of reality.
As the story unfolds, it becomes clear that the true nature of the haunting is much more complex and tragic than initially perceived. The narrative takes a significant turn in its final moments, and I loved that final twist!
It would be awesome to see Kidman return to horror!
