Warner Bros. has released the first trailer for the inspirational, beautifully crafted and unmissable documentary film Super/Man: The Christopher Reeve Story.
This is a wonderful, must-see film that focuses on the life and career of iconic Superman actor Christopher Reeve. I had the opportunity to watch the film at Sundance and there wasn’t a dry eye in the theater when it ended. It was an extremely emotional viewing experience.
The official synopsis reads: “Christopher Reeve’s story is one of astonishing rise from unknown actor to iconic movie star, and his definitive performance as Clark Kent/Superman set the benchmark for the superhero cinematic universes that dominate cinema today.
“Reeve played the Man of Steel in four Superman films and played dozens of other roles that demonstrated his talent and versatility as an actor, before he was injured in a near-fatal horseback riding accident in 1995, which left him paralyzed from the neck down.
“After becoming a quadriplegic, he became a charismatic leader and activist in the search for a cure for spinal cord injury, as well as a passionate advocate for disability rights and care, all while continuing his film career in front of and behind the camera and dedicating himself to his beloved family.”

He added: “It was in this very studio that he made us believe a man could fly, and this documentary reveals what made him a true hero, both on and off screen. Partnering with our friends at Fathom Events to bring this truly special film to the big screen was an opportunity we couldn’t pass up.”

Co-CEO of DC Studios James Gunn revealed that he and co-CEO Peter Safran personally helped the film find a home at Warner Bros. He said, “I saw the extraordinary documentary Super/Man: The Christopher Reeve Story a couple of weeks ago.”
He continued: It blew me away emotionally. Peter and I knew DC Studios had to be involved and I am grateful to Peter and our WBD family at Warner Bros., HBO, CNN and Max for working so hard to acquire it. It is a wonderful film by wonderful filmmakers not just for people like me who love Reeve’s work, but for everyone.”

This is one movie you don’t want to miss. It will be released on September 21, 2024.
