Trailer for Peacock Documentary GARY About Actor Gary Coleman’s Tragic Life and Suspicious Death

Peacock has released a trailer for the documentary Garyon the life and death of the actor by Gary Colemanwho was best known for his role in the hit television series Several shots (1978-1986). Coleman died under suspicious circumstances after a tumultuous marriage, financial problems and ongoing bouts of depression.

The 90-minute documentary chronicles the actor’s rise to international fame and his struggles living in the spotlight, as well as the controversy surrounding his tragic death at age 42.

For the first time, Peacock promises, viewers will get a glimpse into Coleman’s private world through exclusive interviews with fellow actor Todd Bridges, former managers, his estranged parents and Coleman’s ex-wife.

Coleman, who grew up with his adoptive parents, suffered from kidney disease; the medications he took to treat his condition had taken a toll on his size.

However, he became the highest-paid child actor on TV in the late 1970s and 1980s thanks to his work on Several shots and other shows. He died in 2010 in Utah.

Directed by Robin DashwoodThe documentary was executive produced by Louise Norman, Tom Sheahan, Steve Boettcher and Mike Trinklein and produced by RAW. Gary debuts on Peacock on August 29. Watch the trailer below:
