The incident took place in Paris on the morning of August 9. Police said Travis Scott, 33, was arrested after getting into a fight with his bodyguard at a five-star hotel.
According to People, the rapper attacked a security guard who tried to separate the two men at the hotel. “I can confirm that on August 9, 2024, the police were called to the George V Hotel and arrested the rapper, nicknamed Travis Scott, for assaulting a security guard,” the Paris prosecutor said in a statement. The case has been transferred to the police.
The day before, the musician was spotted at the U.S. basketball team’s semifinal match against Serbia at the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris. And on June 20, Travis Scott was arrested in Miami on charges of drunken conduct and trespassing after a warning.
“Mr. Scott was briefly detained following a misunderstanding,” the star’s lawyer Bradford Cohen said at the time. “There was absolutely no physical confrontation and we thank the authorities for working with us to find a swift and peaceful resolution,” the human rights activist said.
